Chicken Breast Recipes: Oven Creations
When it comes to cooking there are a lot of different appliances you can use, but the good old fashioned oven is still among them. Chicken breast recipes, oven baked, that is, have been around forever most of our grandparents only used the oven or stove top to cook. So this means some of these recipes have been tried and tested for decades, and they are still around. To me that says they are worthy and tasty enough be to fed to my family.
This first chicken breast recipe: oven baked, was given to me by my mother-in-law. At the time I was spiteful because she loaded me up with recipes saying I had to cook what my new husband likes otherwise there would be trouble in our future. Well after I got over my spite I started trying some of the recipes that seemed good, including this one. When I made this the first time my husband was beaming, because his mom actually never made this for him but grandmother would make this every Friday night and she watched him that night. Not only does this recipe have symbolic emotions tied to it, but it is also a very tasty way to cook chicken.
Simple Chicken Bake
4 chicken breast
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 tsp. salt (opt.)
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 c. skim milk
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. In a wide-mouthed bowl combine the flour and other seasonings. In a second bowl pour the milk. Dip your chicken in the milk, then into the flour mixture. Place on baking sheet. Bake 20 minutes. Turn over; bake additional 15 minutes.
If you want to turn this into a complete meal it is incredibly simple. Just make any type of rice: white, brown, wild, etc, or any potato: baked, mashed, funeral, etc. Then add a vegetable: broccoli, carrots, corn, peas, etc and walla you have one great dinner for your family.
