Grilled Chicken Breast Recipes: Basics
Summer is just around the corner and that means you will need some new grilled chicken breast recipes for that family BBQ, and all those wonderful afternoons you will be spending on the patio.
I’m going to spend a few posts sharing all the wonderful tips and tricks to successfully grilling chicken and share some scrumptious grilled chicken breast recipes.
First lets talk about the grill. A lot of people prefer to grill different ways. Some say using charcoal briskets makes the meat taste better, but others say that meat tastes fine if you cook it right and propane offers a cleaner grilling experience. Personally I think if you purchase the more expensive briskets that are flavored then it does make the meat tastier. However, I don’t like using briskets because it is harder to clean up after, so I use propane.
When grilling chicken you want to make sure you flip often to keep the juices inside. I normally flip any meat on the grill every 2-3 minutes or less. This way the meat comes off the grill moist and succulent.
Grilling and marinated meats seem to go couple each other very well. I love marinating any meat that I grill. Some researchers will even tell you that marinating the meat for at least two hours beforehand makes more fat cook off the meat, thus making it healthier. Whether it is healthier or not, it doesn’t matter because it sure does make it taste a lot better.
However if you are running low on time and can not marinate your meat than don’t worry there are plenty of grilled chicken breast recipes that don’t require marinating. Or if you want to try something really simple try spreading different flavors of jam or jellies. An orange or pineapple marmalade on chicken is just fantastic. You could even try something a little different and spread grape or strawberry jam on it.
If you want to just season your chicken with your choice of spices, then try spreading a bit of olive oil on it first. The olive oil will help keep the chicken moist and help bring out the flavors of the spices you put on the chicken. Some good spice choices are; lemon-pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, or even some type of seasoning blend will work, i.e. SeasonAll.
